The port and our popular traditions must be promoted in Europe, say the organizers of an exhibition of national costumes inaugurated bitterly in the premises of the Parliament in Chisinau. The "IE for (IE) European Integration" event was organized by the Platform of Deputies, in partnership with the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in the capital. Tomorrow, visitors can also admire the twenty national costumes and other elements of the folk costume, exhibited at the Parliament on the occasion of the Universal Day of Ia.
According to the officials present at the event, the popularization of national symbols, especially the traditional eia, is an important step in the integration of our country into the European Union.
"This is the element with which we are convinced that we can and will go into the great European family and show how deep our heritage, traditions are. I say let's do as many events as possible, not just once a year", declared the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu.
*"Because the European Union is about unity through diversity and I am very happy that we were able to combine this celebration IE for IE, IE for European Integration, or the European Union, the big family is waiting for us with our traditions", said the Vice-President of the Parliament , Doina Gherman.
"We brought here to the Parliament only 20 pages from this book, 20 integration costumes, all with relevant, concise information about each costume from the craftsman's area that he created," explained the director of the Museum of Ethnography, Petru Vicol.
The organizers say that it has become a tradition, that every year the Universal Day of Ia is celebrated by inaugurating an exhibition of the popular port in the Parliament premises. And the traditions of our people must be promoted in Europe.
"Because we are in the process of European integration, it is imperative to bring our traditions and customs to Europe, we are rich in traditions, and Ia is actually our business card," says MP Marina Morozova.
"This is what our grandparents and ancestors are talking about, about our traditions that are appreciated even by UNESCO and that somehow bear the name of our country brand, far from Moldova. I think it's an extraordinary idea for us, the deputies, to promote these things," added deputy Angela Munteanu-Pojoga.
The exhibition of folk costumes in the Parliament premises will be open to the general public on Wednesday as well. The Universal Day of Ia is celebrated annually on June 24.
