At our home at.. Vărăncău village
If there were a top of the most picturesque villages in the Republic of Moldova, Vărăncău could certainly be ranked on one of the leading places. The entrance to the locality makes up a charming landscape picture. The Dniester River turn nicely, raising the houses of the villagers on the slope. Such a sudden turn of the river is unique along its riverbed. The steep copper walls that rise above the river create a fascinating impression. If you arrive in these places, make a stop right at the first stop in the village, where you can quench your thirst at one of the springs with mineral water famous for its healing properties. A paved road climbs the hill, separating the slums of the ancient hearth, with stone-built walls and Christian crucifixes erected at every crossroads. Vărăncău has the appearance of a traditional, neatly Moldovan village, with native farmers who inherited their love for lands from generation to generation. The economic activities that take place in Vărăncău commune are varied and demonstrate the diligence of the villagers - agriculture: cultivating the land, raising cereals, raising animals, beekeeping; industrial activities: blacksmithing, wood processing, production of doors and windows; trade; milling etc... A pride for the village is the football team FC “Prietenia”, which placed on winning places at the district sports championships, led, for several years, by the unfortunate coach Valeriu Tașnic. In the locality, the folk ensemble - model “La Izvoare” activates, which delights the natives, with a rich repertoire of authentic songs, at all the commune's holidays and takes the fame of the ancestral song further, to district festivals. As it is rarely found in other localities, in Vărăncău there is also a generational ensemble - “Familia Panici”.

Mayor Petru Boțoc: “Vărăncău is a village with development perspectives. The captivating landscapes near Vărăncău would be a "magnet" for attracting tourists. Here in the way of the Dniester rises a mountain, which requires the river to make a 90 degree bend. There is no such thing along the river from the Carpathians to the sea! The most important development projects are in progress: street lighting on a total length of over 20 kilometers in the villages of Vărăncău commune, water supply of the localities, asphalting of roads and other objectives. We have many problems to solve. We would like people not to migrate elsewhere, to have the opportunity to assert themselves at home, in the dearest places.
