As soon as you have stepped in this land of legends, let yourself seduced by the wonderful places, and by readin this small guide, find out about the numerous touristic places that have also beeb visited by other like you. Like pearls are threaded on a necklace, so are the archeological complex Orheiul Vechi, the mansion-park Ivancea, Orheiul Vechi (Old Orhei) etc. Being situated in the center of the country, Orhei County is visited by thousand of tourists every year. A lot of them head towards the touristics resort „Casa din luncă”, from the Trebujeni village, a resort situated on the banks of the Raut river.
On the road Chișinău-Bălți, 46 km from the capital, on the left bank of the river Răut, you will find the city of Orhei. The legend says that on the place of the city, the old fortress Petrova was standing. Its ruins can still be seen at Orheiul Vechi.
The Orhei of today is a modern city, in search of its own identity. Parks and alleys, beautifully built houses, arhitectural monuments, beautiful boulevards, the monument of ruler Vasile Lupu, „Sfântul Dumitru” church, built by the same ruler in the years 1638-1639 are some of the products of the present and testimony of the past.
A factory that nowadays function at full capacity is Orhei Vit.
Young people from all over Modlova come to study in Orhei at me3dical and pedagogical colleges, at the profesions school of the city, the Music School, and the Arts School. In the days off, readers in need of more and more spiritual knowledge assault thr libraries of Orhei.
Just 200 meters away from the City Hall, there is the Museum of History and Ethnography.
From the bus station, you can take different means of transportation to different picturesque places.
