10 destinations in Moldova

The raw green season is the best time to learn more about the beautiful places of the area between the Prut and Nistru. Dinu RUSU, an author from newspaper Natura suggests a top of destinations of spring, places less promoted, some found anywhere tourism catalogs.

The first stop is at the entrance gate of the Dniester in Moldova – at Naslavcea. From the top of the clifftop of his hand looks like an island surrounded by the waters of the old river. On the bank of the Dniester, guarded by rocks millennial homes are householders from Naslavcea. Here are a lot of interesting monuments, which must write only with superlatives. One of them is „33 of fords” – an impressive nature reserve located in the valley of the little river Chisărău, named by locals Cosărău. Not far away, up the river, stands a towering oak forest. At the „33 of fords” are rich and interesting flora and fauna. There are rare plants, such as buckthorn, rust pinnate, lily, sticky sage, common honeysuckle. Also in reserve are plants included in the Red Book of Moldova – popâlnicul noble and white snowdrop.

Palanca village
The second position of spring destinations is Palanca from district Călăraşi. Here is one of the old church from wood from Bessarabia (Built at the end of century XVIII). Near the ancient holy place is a story, a place to call more people to come to Palanca, a place with a name quite challenging – „Casa Părintească” (Parental Home). Here, also, are four monasteries – Hârjauca, Răciula, Hârbovăț, and Frumoasa.

Feteşti village
The bronze place is occupied by Feteşti, Edineţ. Cliffs, glades, and river of love (Draghişte) – landscapes true story. Here is a citadel, Stânca Bunicului with a high of 90 m. At the Cheile Draghiştei from Feteşti, dug between two massive reefs Badenian, with the age of 15 million years, there are colonies of coral and caves Pleistocene – part of the first age in history. At the right side of Draghişte we have the highest altitude – almost – approach 250 m above sea level, and on the left side of the river – Stânca Rediului has 230 m.

Horodişte village
The fourth position in the top destinations of spring is Horodişte, Râşcani. Right at the entrance to the village stands watch a huge iron cross. „Braţele” of the cross are turning their eyes to two gates resistance – Ţiglăul and Holmul. According to data, Horodişte is from century XIII. Other sources mentioned the century XVII (the year 1651).

Here, at the little river Duruita, an affluent of Ciuhurului, there is a Monument geological and archeological. Following excavations here were found samples of ice age fossils and remains of prehistoric culture. In 1848, at Duruitoarea Veche a new church is built of stone in the shape of a cross, named „Sfinţii Arhangheli Mihail and Gavriil”.

Sixth returns a town in northern of Moldova – Călărăşeuca, Ocniţa. Here is one of the beautiful Moldovian monastery – „Adormirea Maicii Domnului”. The architecture of the monastery is impressive, but draw here icons miraculous and healing water springs. Those who arrive at the monastery can enjoy views of landscape reserve„Călărăşeuca”, located near the monastery. Here are a lot of caves and grottos in which live bats and eagles. Also, here grow many species of rare plants.

Vadul-Raşcov village
At seven place is Vadul-Raşcov from district Şoldăneşti, which must be visited at least three reasons – is the motherland of the poet Dumitru Matcovschi, is the largest Jewish cemetery in Southeast Europe and the old bell. The location is situated in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Dniester (Nistru). During the Second World War, the Germans burned Jewish cemetery from wood. At that time the burnt wooden church, built-in 1787. A stone cross remembers where it was found. Remained just stone belfry – a symbol of the village. The church „The Saints Arhangheli Mihail and Gavriil” has a history of a century and was not closed in the Soviet period. On the banks of the old River is the parental home of poet Dumitru Matcovschi.

Molovata village 
Eighth returns other localities on the Nistru river – Molovata, Dubăsari. Here at Molovata, Dniester has a width of over one kilometer away big and rare.

Branişte 
The ninth position is occupied by the place known as „Suta de Movile” (The Hundred Knolls). It is situated between the villages Branişte (Râşcani) and Cobani (Glodeni). About the famous knolls wrote Dimitrie Cantemir himself and the polish writer Jozef Ignacy Kraszewsky which said in one of his works that „Suta de Movile” is a necropolis of Scythian kings. Their occurrence is due to natural phenomena, it is more landslides, someones said. Others say they were raised during a battle with the Turks. There are opinions that they have home ice.
Donici
And the last place is the village Donici, from district Orhei. Here, he was born the poet Alexandru Donici. From 1976, is inaugurated Home-Muzeum Alexandru Donici. Near of the house is the church of the family Donici, with the name „Adormirea Maicii Domnului”, built by the parents of the poet – Dimitrie and Elena. Alongside the sanctuary is the family tomb bell Donici.
