A couple from Slobozia Mare village in Cahul district turned their passion for horses into a successful business

At 160 kilometres away from the capital, after a two and a half-hour drive, in the village of Slobozia Mare, Cahul district, you will discover an enchanting place, where you can ride horses and spend time in nature away from the crowds of the city. And this is due to a young family that returned home after many years of working abroad.

Spouses Lorina and Artur Neagu, out of a passion for equestrianism, created a riding centre, where those interested have the opportunity to take a horse ride on the shores of Lake Beleu - the eden of fish, birds and aquatic plants.

Artur Neagu was born and raised in the village of Slobozia Mare in Cahul district. Being surrounded by horses as a child, as he got older, the man began to develop his passion for these noble animals, which for a while were forgotten.

„I have a passion for horses since I was a child, I have inherited it I think since I was like my son. My father always had horses and I grew up with them until I was 18, when I had to leave home. After that I stopped, so to speak, my activity with horses, I switched to horsepower, engines, cars. And after that, I got back to the horses”, says Artur Neagu.

The state of pandemic established in European countries convinced the young family to return to their homeland, after many years spent abroad. And to spend time with his family, Artur organized for his wife horseback rides in nature. That's how the adventure started.

"People started appreciating this thing with horses and they said they wanted to ride too. Friends, friends to friends and so on, say, the joke has thickened. Now what to do, we have to prepare ourselves from a tourist point of view, for that it allows us to amortize from the expenses we have", Artur Neagu mentions.

Husbands want to offer both adults and children a way to return to a pace of life closer to that of nature, a space where agitation and anxiety can be replaced with positive emotions and self-confidence in the future.
