„Best place to visit in Soroca”
I think this is the best reason to pay a visit to Soroca city. A lovely ancient fortress, give it a few hours to spend around. Pitty there was no shop open around (January 2016), somehow dissapointed I haven’t get any souvenirs. Nice funny thing, Ukraine is just a few km away, you may see it from the top of the fortress very easy. (Darkdistro)
“Nicely renovated, beautiful views”
I visited this fortress twice this summer. It’s a nice place to visit, not very special and too bad there are few artifacts on display. Still it’s an impressive building, you can climb to the top and enjoy the view. Also the roofs are nicely done. If you want to enhance your visit go on a friday, saturday or sunday evening and you’ll see the moldovan weddings. We saw 5 couples taking there pictures in the castle, along with the limousines and friends and family.
The terrace next to the fortress is nice for a drink. There is usually a strong smell around due to the dumping of sewage in the river. The city doesn’t have a treatment plant.
The castle is closed on monday and tuesday. (maarten81)
